staging flag, meant for testing an integration before it touches live work. You copy your real Space’s workflow into it, point a separate integration at it, and reset it whenever you want a clean slate.
Staging Spaces live in the same account as your real ones. The flag is a label for people and for the reset route. It does not isolate anything on its own. The isolation comes from scoping: give your test integration access to the staging Space only.
Setting up and resetting staging Spaces is done through the API. There is no staging toggle in the app. Setting
staging is limited to root and admin users.Set up a sandbox
1
Copy the structure
Copy your live Space’s workflow into a new staging Space with one call.
2
Create a test integration
In Account, Connections, API integrations, create an integration with scopes on the staging Space only, and a subscription if you use webhooks.
3
Run your sync
Point your client at the staging Space’s id and run it end to end.
4
Reset and repeat
Reset the Space to clear the tasks and the external ids, then run the sync again.
Copy structure
Any member can copy a Space, but only a root or admin user can set
staging: true. You can also create a staging Space directly with POST /workspaces/space and "staging": true, or set the flag later with PATCH /workspaces/space.
Reset
Call reset again until
remaining is 0.
Integration tokens are refused on copy and reset. Run them as a root or admin user.
