Finding Shared Conversations

Every conversation you can open lives in one panel, headed Conversations, alongside a refresh control and a button for starting a new one.

The three tabs

The panel is one list at a time. Pick which: New conversations start in Personal, and nothing is shared until its owner says so. The tab you choose is remembered, so the one you live in is still selected after a reload.

Narrowing the list

  • Search — the box above the list filters on the conversation itself, not just what is already loaded, so an old thread is findable without scrolling to it.
  • Origin chips — where a conversation started: Web, Slack or Teams. The chips appear only when the list actually holds more than one origin, and they filter within the current tab.

Reading a row

Rows are ordered by last activity. Each one carries:
  • The conversation’s title.
  • Its origin badge.
  • On the Shared tab, a pill naming the owner — the person who shared it with you. Its tooltip has their full address.
  • On your own conversations, an Invited pill when you have added people to it.
  • The time of the last activity.

Opening one

Click the row. A mention notification links straight to the conversation too — see Notifications. If you hold read-only access, the conversation opens complete but without a composer, and the top of it says who shared it with you.

What you can do with someone else’s conversation

A row’s overflow menu — Share…, Rename, Delete — appears on your own conversations only. On a conversation a colleague shared with you there is no menu, because every one of those actions belongs to its owner.
That means you cannot remove yourself from a conversation someone shared with you, and you cannot silence one on its own. Ask the owner to remove you; to quieten mentions generally, use the notification preferences instead.

If a conversation disappears

Access was removed by its owner, or the conversation was deleted. Both are the owner’s to reverse — there is no self-service way back in.
