Notifications
Notifications are how work that happened without you gets back to you: a task reassigned, a colleague mentioning you in a conversation, Abbie finishing a run or needing a decision.Where they appear
1
The bell
The bell in the sidebar carries a dot whenever anything is unread.
2
The panel
Opening it lists the most recent notifications. When there are unread ones, the header shows
an N unread pill and a Mark all as read action; each row can be marked read on its
own. With nothing waiting it says so: Nothing new. Updates, assignments and mentions land
here.
3
The full history
View all notifications at the foot of the panel opens the history page, which filters by
period (Today, Yesterday, This week) and by type, has an Unread only toggle, and offers
Clear filters and Mark all as read.
Notifications are stored for one week. The history page replays what is retained, so a week is
the whole of what it can ever show.
The Conversations sidebar itself carries no per-conversation unread count. Unread state lives on
the bell.
Choosing what reaches you
Settings → Notifications. Preferences are set per notification kind, and each kind’s supported channels — in-app, email — are switched independently.Tasks
In-app and email:- Status changes
- Assignment changes
- Mentions
- Watcher updates
Task mentions are always delivered in-app. That switch is locked rather than hidden, so it is
clear it is deliberate.
Abbie
In-app only — email is not available for these yet:
Authorisation and decision requests are split out from the rest deliberately: muting the chasing
of parked work should not also mute a prompt that is blocking real progress.
Billing
In-app only:- Low credit balance — your balance has dropped to a warning level, before it runs out.
- Auto top-up failed — an automatic top-up could not be charged. Retries pause until the balance recovers, so this is the only warning you get.
Delivery
Two account-wide controls sit below the kinds:- Email grouping — Real-time, Hourly digest or Daily digest. This governs email only; in-app delivery is unaffected.
- Quiet hours — off by default. Turn it on and set a from and to time to pause notifications between them. Mentions still come through. The window follows the timezone on your profile, which the setting names so there is no guessing.
