You can ask Abbie to act at a future time, or on a recurring schedule, just by saying so in plain language. No special syntax is required.
Abbie confirms back the exact time and timezone she’s scheduled it for, so there’s never any ambiguity about when it’ll fire, especially if you’re not in your usual timezone at the time.

Reminders vs scheduled work

A reminder is just a message Abbie will send you at the right time: a nudge, not a job. Scheduled work is a backlog item that starts at a given time and runs like anything else on her backlog. Both show up in the Scheduled view of the Backlog page, and both can repeat.

If a schedule couldn’t fire on time

If something prevented Abbie from firing a schedule right when it was due, she won’t silently skip it. An overdue one-shot reminder or task shows as Was due with its original time, so the miss is visible rather than swallowed. A recurring schedule simply re-arms for its next occurrence.

Changing a schedule

  • Reschedule moves a one-off scheduled item to a new date and time.
  • Stop repeating cancels a recurring reminder or task without affecting anything else on your backlog.
  • To change how often something repeats, not just when it next fires, tell Abbie directly in a conversation. Recurrence is expressed as a real schedule under the hood, so it’s simplest to describe the change in words rather than pick it from a date field.
Cancelling a schedule stops future occurrences; it doesn’t cancel the backlog item itself unless you also select Stop Abbie on it. See Cancelling and deferring.
